Homicide cop Jane Rizzoli and medical examiner Maura Isles have seen their fair share of mortal crimes, but the death of Kimberly Rayner may qualify as inhuman in more ways than one. Interesting short story to tempt the reader into reading more of Gerritsen,
This would have done well as a fully fleshed out novel, but the sole intention of this short novella is to advertise the Gerritsen books and the Tv series. That is fair enough, because the story was a good read, although I hope her full novels don’t hop from one conclusion to the other so quickly.

|Useful taster,
A very short story, so a very short review!
An enjoyable, easy read, it will take about 15 minutes to get through, so it’s ideal to enjoy with a quick cup of coffee – and a biscuit, of course!
Tess Gerritson is an experienced writer and this may be useful to give readers a small taster of her style of writing before reading the full length novels featuring cop Jane Rizzoli and medical examiner Maura Isles.

|SF,
As always, Tess Gerritsen writes a good story. However, I felt that this short story was very short. Leaves you saying “is that it?”.
